Sam Chenkin manages the Data Services team at Tech Impact as Director of Consulting Services. During Sam's tenure, they have guided Tech Impact through its transition from a regional nonprofit IT services provider to a global influencer in the nonprofit technology field. Sam has built a suite of offerings that include low-cost and sustainable cloud migration services, managed IaaS offerings, and a thriving data practice that provides database selection and implementation services. Sam has led hundreds of organizations through the processes of implementing new technologies.


James Rooney is Senior Program Manager for Microsoft Philanthropies Technology for Social Impact program. In this role he leads our product donation program and manages programs and projects that build technical capacity within the nonprofit community. Throughout his 18-year tenure at Microsoft, James has held a variety of roles including hand-coding HTML webpages for the Microsoft Developers Network and leading a worldwide editorial and content team out of Microsoft's Dublin, Ireland, for the launch of Office 2010. He holds an MPA from the University of Washington Evans School, founded and led a nonprofit focused on urban agriculture and food security, and has served on the board of numerous other community-focused nonprofit organizations.
